Chennai – Bangalore Expressway is a road project that creates a shorter distance between Bengaluru and Chennai. It is one of the first expressways in South India to make a huge impact on the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. The project is with building under Bharatmala Pariyojana and is part of 26 new expressways. It is an initiative by the Indian Government to connect with almost all parts of India through robust road networks. The project was conceived in 2011 but only on paper. The foundation for the project was laid by working PM Sri Narendra Modi in May 2022. It is one of the first expressways in India that creates a huge impact on the Indian economy.

Bengaluru- Chennai Expressway is one of the under-construction projects with 258 km or 160 miles long and 4-lane wide network. It adds with access-controlled expressway within Bengaluru, the capital city of Karnataka, and Chennai, Tamil Nadu's Capital city. The highway connects with Hoskote in the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region development authority towards Sriperumbudur within the Chennai Metropolitan region. The vehicles will reach a speed of 120 km/hour or 75 mph. The road is designated as a national expressway on 1 January 2021 with Rs 17930 Crore as estimated value with completion by the end of 2025. This comes as an earlier date which is announced by Sri Nitin Gadkari as Road transport and highways. 
 
The national highways development project Phase VI has been established which connects with the involvement of the new government at the center. The real estate prices began to rise all along expressways connecting near Ranipet -  Poonapnthangal – Arakkonam in  Tamil Nadu.
 
It is developed at an estimated cost of Rs 17,000 Crore. The expressway is considered to cut travel time between two cities. Chennai and Bengaluru will take only two and a half hours which will save a huge amount of time and fuel. The project connects with all safety features once it is ready. It was informed by the road transport minister, Mr. Nitin Gadkari in February 2021. 

Expressway makeup: The National Expressway (NE-7) is the same for this NHIA Project. The project is with an area of 262 km and passes through Karnataka. Hoskote is the starting point for the Bengaluru – Chennai expressway within Bengaluru. It further ends at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram district. The Expressway will also pass through Malur, Bangarpet, and Kolar Gold Fields, towards Palamner, Chittor, and Ranipet.    
Features with Bangalore – Chennai Expressway – Build, operate and transfer basis is implemented on this project.
 
 It is one of the first double-decker elevated road expressway. It connects with 8 major bridges, 17 flyovers, and 105 minor bridges. Part of the overall makeup with connectivity is towards four roads. It is with diverting at Dabaspet ( Karnataka ), Konadasapura ( Karnataka). It is with connectivity to Kolar Gold Fields ( Karnataka) and Katpadi (Tamil Nadu), Bengaluru Ring Road.

Bengaluru – Chennai Expressway ( Key facts)
 
The implementing agency is NHAI with 262.25 km of total length for this project.  It adds to starting point of Hoskote at Karnataka ends at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. The travel time for project is at 170 km/hour.
Karnataka with 71 km, Tamil Nadu with 106 km, Andhra Pradesh with 85 km of project area.
The project will be completed within 3 phases. 
It connects with an estimated cost of Rs 14.570 Crore onwards.
120 km is average speed limit.  

Features of Bengaluru – Chennai Expressway:
 
Chennai – Bengaluru Expressway is all set to become a lifeline for South India. It is at first time that NHAI is developing with expressway in Southern states. 
 
Travel time will get cut significantly between two cities – Chennai and Bengaluru. Only 2 hours 15 minutes approx as travel time for this expressway. Currently both the cities are connected with 5-6 hours of traffic. Once with completion of expressway, the travel time gets reduced to 2 hours and 15 minutes. 80 km of distance has been shortened. 120 km/hr is maximum speed.
 
The road gets constructed with ensuring smooth traffic which adds to road safety.
 
Bengaluru – Chennai Expressway has a flourishing industrial corridor of Chennai and Bengaluru. It aims to boost the manufacturing sector and other similar industries.
The cities in this area add as excellent attraction for real estate investors. It leads to an increase in price once the expressway gets ready. 
More employment opportunities are created with excellent attraction of real estate investors. The property prices will increase with the completion of the expressway.
The expressway will have necessary amenities such as underpasses for vehicles, truck bays, and animal underpasses. It adds traffic and administration systems.
