He got selected in the IPL auction by Sri Sanjay Goenka. He finished as a top 10 wicket-taker in IPL 2024. Lucknow traded him to Rajasthan Royals for Devdut Padikal.

As a team, Lucknow Super Giant played well in the 2024 season. LSG although failed to make it into playoffs and first time in three years after prolonged struggles with batting at the top. It adds with bowling attack without much fuss. Although KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran LSG found little rhythm throughout the season which reaches in the middle of the points table.

In the 2023 season after winning eight league stage games, LSG made it to playoffs. It was with second time in a row and knocked out in the eliminator. Lost their captain KL Rahul in the middle of the season. Afghanistan seamer took wickets in eight games within the debut season.

In 2022 with the debut season Super Giants qualified for playoffs with nine wins at the end of group stage. KL Rahul, Deepak Hooda, and Quinton De Kock made 1600 runs between them and uncapped seamer. Mohsin Khan has had a breakthrough season in this tournament. The governing council of IPL issued an institution with the tender of two new sides in August 2021, A total of 22 companies declared some interest but with a high base price with new teams. The Sanjay Goenka-owned RPSG Group won the rights to operate in Lucknow. The franchisee offered a huge bid of Rs 7,090 Core equivalent to rs 80 trillion or US$900 Million in 2023.

The team launched with a competition to decide its name and it was chosen in Jan 2022 as Lucknow Super Giants. The name is derived from the owner’s name abbreviation. Sri Sanjay Goeka as a Suffix added as Super Giant. The Suffix is part of the previous IPL franchisee Rising Pune Supergiants and with the renaming of Mohun Bagan’s Athletics Club with footballing division to Mohan Bagan Super Giant.
