The Agra Metro route map showcases two main corridors designed to enhance connectivity and reduce traffic congestion. The operator for this project is UPMRCL as UP Metro Rail Corporation. It is one of the MRTS or as Mass Rapid Transit System. It cost a huge amount of Rs 8379.62 Crores. It comes with total length of 29.4 km and has completion target with different phase by 2026 although major part is operational.  

The routes and network for the Agra Metro is with Red line and Blue Line. It has Red line that operates from Sikandra to Taj East gate. It covers total distance of 14.25 km, with operational distance of 5.2 km and 9.07 km for under construction line.

The Blue line is with Agra Cantt towards Kalindi Vihar, distance of 15.4 km. The project is approved.

The Red Line or Line 1 is from Mnakameshwar towards Taj East Gate. It offers a length of 5.2 km. There are total 6 stations on this route. The name of stations are Mankameshwar, Agra Fort station. It connects to Taj Mahal and further towards Fatehabad Road, Basai station and towards Taj East gate.

The under construction line on Red line route is from Sikandra towards Taj East Gate. It offers a length of 9.07 Km with 8 stations. It has stations as Sikandra, Guru Ka Taal, ISBT, Shastri Nagar station. It further gets towards RBS College, Raja Ki Mandi which is an important station on Mathura-Delhi route. It gets towards Agra University and Medical college.

The line 2 which consist of Blue Line is with Agra Cantt towards Kalindi Vihar. It covers a length of 15.4 km. The total number of stations are 15 within this project.

Agra Cantt Station, Sultanpura, all important route of Sadar Bazaar station, Pratap Pura and Collectorate gets connected on this route. Other prominent stations on this route are at Subhash Park and towards Agra University. It has Hariparvat Chauraha and Sanjay place station. The further connectivity towards MG Road, Sultanganj Crossing and also with Kamla Nagar station. It is with connectivity to Rambagh, Foundary Nagar, Agra mandi and has last station at Kalindi Vihar.

The train maintenance depot is also constructed to serve the metro services and get it operational without any technical glitches.

Ø It is on Phase 1 at PAC which is with operational mode for Red line or Line 1.

Ø It is on Phase1, Line 2 that is with proposed development at Kalindi Vihar on Blue Line 2.

The key dates for the Agra metro project is in details. The project got its approval by Indian Government for 1st Phase. On 2019, 8th of March foundation stone was laid down by PM Modi ji. The 7th of December 2020 was the first day when construction start working on Phase1 development of Agra Metro. March 6th 2023 was historic day when first metro train reaches PAC Metro Depot. 6th of March 2024 was with development at Mankameshwar towards Taj East Gate of 5.2 km on most important development i.e. Line 1.

On two lines it connects with 29 stations.  

RITES has prepare the detail project report (DPR) then forward it to UP Govt on 2016, Month of June to get permission for further work.

Some of the key figures for Agra Metro is with an operational distance of 5.2 km and 6.7 km of under construction area. The project gets approval of an additional 17.5 km. A cost of Rs 8,379.62 (estimated) is spent on making of Line 1. By 2031 it is expected to get an estimated ridership of 7.36 lakh per day. The total number of estimated coach for the project is 87.

Agra Metro ticket price or fares:

Agra Metro’s fare structure is with best of the prices and rules are not part of it. It will get finalize when commercial operation starts. UPMRCL Plans for use of latest technologies with its automatic fare collection system. It sets QR codes and near field communication or NFC Phones that also utilizes with the system.

The Metro has Phase 1 that is from Yellow Line that connects with Sikandra towards Taj East gate. It covers total length of 14.27 km with total number of stations as 13.

Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar, under Blue Line has 15 stations. Length of 15.40 km is in total for this route.

With this the most important development by Metro connectivity for Agra will get complete. Although, during the initial stage many term is as “White Elephant” or a project that will never see any good ridership. But as the city is growing and soon the metro with its completion will connect towards Mathura. This will connect to pilgrimage city of Mathura and Vrindavan. The entire corridor will see huge tourist influx. It will lead to more comfortable development and as the city grows which ca be seen with huge number of residential, commercial projects in this area.
