The city connects with the Lucknow metro and it is develop by Lucknow metro rail project. It is operational under U. P. Metro Rail Corporation limited. The owner for the development is Indian Govt and Uttar Pradesh Govt. It adds as project type of Mass rapid transit system. The project in Lucknow costs the Government with whopping amount of INR 11, 962.55 Crore within Phase 1. It has funding done by Govt of India, U.P. Govt, European Investment Bank. It gives you a completion target of 2027 as Phase II. It is operation from September 5, 2017. It has project details as RED line with CCS Airport towards Munshi Pulia. This line is operational ad serves the customers. The second phase is with Blue Line that has Charbagh railway line station towards Vasant Kunj.  It is with an area of 11 km with DPR submitted for the project.

Operational routes are with area of Phase 1 with North-South Corridor. It adds with Red line that offers connectivity from Arambagh to Transport Nagar via CCS Airport. The route length is at 22.87 km. Rs 6,928 Crore is the estimated cost for it. Total stations with 5 of them as elevated and 7 of them as underground.

The name of the station within this project are as Arambagh, Arambagh ISBT, Amausi, Badshahnagar, Bhootnath market, Charbagh. It connects with CCS International airport, Durgapuri, Hazratganj, Hussainganj, Indira nagar, IT Chauraha, KD Singh Babu stadium. It has Krishna Nagar, Lekhraj Market, Lucknow University, Mawaiya, It also adds with Munish Pulia, Sachivalaya, Singar Nagar, Tranport Nagar.

It has total number of metro station as 22 and there is no interchange station for the time being. There are number of elevated corridor station as 18 and underground station is 4. It has number of station at-grade is o.  The maintenance depot for Line 1 is at Transport Nagar and is operational.  

Lucknow railway station to Vasant Kunj connects with East-West corridor 2 Blue Line. It has route length of 11. 294 Km. The total number of stations with this route are 12. It gets 5 elevated station and 7 underground station.

The name of statio are Charbagh station project , Gautam Buddh Nagar Project , Aminabad, Pandeyganj City Project . It is near Railway station, Medical Chauraha, Nawabganj, Thakurganj. It is with station at Balaganj, Sarfarazganj, musabagh and Vasant Kunj.. 

The Phase 2 has Line 3 as Lucknow to Rajajipuram.

Ø It has Line 4 as Indira Nagar towards CG City.

Ø It has Line 5 as CG City via CCS international airport.

Ø It has Line 6 as Munshi Pulia to jankipuram.

Ø It has Line 7 as Charbagh to SCPCI.

Ø Line 8 connects on an important route of Sachivalaya to CG City.

It has elevated route of 4549 km with 5 of the station at GB Mark towards Thakurganj.

Balaganj to Vasant Kunj has 7 underground stations that covers area of 6.55 km. 

The total number of stations is 12.

It has station names as Gautam Buddha Marg and towards Aminabad. Further towards Pandeyganj City Railway station, Medical College Chauraha. It connects towards Nawarganj, Thakurganj, Balaganj, Sarfarazganj, Musabagh and Vasant Kunj. 

The construction is on for 1 new line and 2 of the line extensions. It adds with change by the time construction begins. 

The extension with Line 1 is Munshi Pulia to Jankipuram.

An important line 2 is as Charbagh to Sanjay Gandhi PGI is on Line 2.

IIM Lucknow to Rajajipuram one of the important phase on Lucknow Metro is on line 3. 

Some of the key dates for the project are:

Ø The project gets an approval by State Govt for Phase I on August 2013.

Ø The phase 2 project gets State Govt approval by December 2013.

Ø Lucknow Metro Project foundation stone is by 27 March 2014.

Ø Construction work starts with 27 September 2014.

Ø Charbagh to Transport Nagar with Line 1 on Phase 1 is distance of 8.5 km with approval on 5 September 2017.

Ø CCS International Airport to Transport Nagar with Line 1 Phase 1 is for 2.67 km that has approval on 8 March 2019.

Ø Charbagh and towards Munsi Pulia is on Line 1 with Phase 1 is 11.73 km for 8 March 2019.

Lucknow Metro fares on route: You can choose with smart card or tokens on Lucknow metro routes. It has 7 categories of fares that is divided according to number of stations and distance travel altogether.

Ø The lowest fare is Rs 10 INR with 1 station travel.

Ø 15 INR is with 2 stations of travel.

Ø 20 INR is with 3 to 6 station of travel.

Ø 30 INR is amount for 7 to 9 station of travel.

Ø 40 INR is amount for 10 to 13 station.

Ø 50 INR is amount for 14 to 17 stations.

Ø 60 INR is amount for 18 station.

Timings for Lucknow Metro: First metro starts with early morning at 6:00 am and the last metro is at 22: 00 hrs at night. All seven days a week without any break is the operation for Lucknow Metro.

The parking is available at three of the operational stations out of 8. There is provision for shuttle service at regular intervals.  

Rules to be followed at Lucknow Metro:

Ø The token, smart card should get validated with entering metro.

Ø If caught with an invalid ticket rider will get imprisonment for 3 months or fine of 250, at times both.

Ø No unauthorized entry to station is permitted as the punishment is same as above for it.

Ø You cannot carry any offensive or prohibited material that attracts Rs 500 as penalty.

Ø No damage has to be done for the metro property, train or platform. He or she may get behind bar imprisonment for up to 10 years.

Ø Altering or also forging a token or smart card results with imprisonment of 6 months. 

The system specifications for Lucknow Metro is with 80 km/h as top speed. It offers an average speed of 54 km/h. The track gauge is standard with 1435 mm. Electrification is with 25 kv, 50 Hz AC OHE. The signalling is based on communication base train control or CBTC.
